About ST CHRISTOPHER HOUSE COMMUNITY ENDOWMENT
The St. Christopher House Community Endowment is a public foundation registered with the Canada Revenue Agency. It is the the successor to the charitable organizations previously known as the St. Christopher House Property Corporation and originally as St. Christopher House.
From its inception in 1920, St. Christopher House was responsible for holding the properties used by the unincorporated settlement house known as St. Christopher House. After the settlement house was incorporated in 1963 as The St. Christopher House, the name of St. Christopher House was changed to the St. Christopher House Property Corporation.
In 1999 the name and purpose of the Property Corporation was changed to the St. Christopher House Community Endowment to reflect a change in its purpose to support The St. Christopher House as a public foundation. In 2000, the Community Endowment received its official designation from the Canada Revenue Agency as a public foundation.
