Aanii, Shekoli, Kuwiinguneewal!

In 2023-2024, SOAHAC focused on advancing health equity across all of its sites and throughout its service area. As an Indigenous organization, we are deeply aware of the inequities that Indigenous people face in accessing safe and culturally-supportive healthcare.

With the support of our partners and funders, we have advanced health equity by expanding service in Cambridge and Newbury; opening a new, accessible site in London; adding more staff to our health system navigation program; developing a strong cultural foundation for our organization with the support of our traditional healing team, continuing to invest in research in Indigenous spaces and communities, and working with the Indigenous Primary Health Care Council for greater access to supports and services for all Indigenous people living in Ontario.

We also continued to grow our reach to serve more clients than ever before, in new and exciting ways. Through client impact in areas such as health and fitness, traditional healing and belonging, and the use of art and storytelling to heal, we continued to support and show up for our community all year long.
