Hi everyone!
On June 11, my team (The Pacemakers) and I are participating in the Toronto Challenge, multi-charity 5k(6250-ish steps) walking event, in support of frail and isolated seniors.
I know this may not feel like a "sexy" cause, but it's a necessary one. Failing a premature death, we all grow old. When that time comes, some of us may not have any friends or family to help us out.
That's when Society of Sharing steps in. With your help, we provide vulnerable, isolated seniors - many of who live in poverty - with the companionship and services they need. That includes weekly visits from trained volunteers, regular social gatherings, escorted medical appointments, shopping trips, and more.
Seniors are our local treasures, historians, story-tellers and sages. Let's give them the respect, companionship and support they deserve.
