Temporary short term housing for Military, First Responders and Veterans in Atlantic Canada coming to Halifax for medical treatment.
The Society of Atlantic Heroes is a non-profit group that offers services to First Responders, Veterans, and Military members, their support staff, and their immediate family members. The Society currently has a furnished 3-bedroom apartment in downtown Halifax (walking distance to Hospitals, grocery store, pharmacy etc.) which includes a full kitchen, cable, and Wi-Fi. The premise of this apartment is to be accessible to “Heroes” and their immediate family members during hospital stays and medical appointments. Use of our apartment is free of charge! We rely on the generosity of corporate and community donors to provide this vital service for the First Responder, Military and Veteran communities in Atlantic Canada.
n collaboration with private, corporate and government stakeholders, the long-term goal of the Society is to establish a Transition Housing and Support Centre of Excellence which will cater to active and former members of the Canadian Armed Forces, RCMP, municipal police, firefighters and EHS first responders who are experiencing serious personal challenges associated with Post Traumatic Stress Disorders and other Occupational Stress Injuries (OSI).
