Parkinson's Journey 2022

From August 11 to September 11, 2022, Parkinson Montréal-Laval invites you to attend its annual PARKINSON'S JOURNEY!

This fundraising event will take place all over the province and, as every year, will mobilizes thousands of people in support of the 100,000 Quebecers affected by Parkinson's disease

Whether you are a person living with Parkinson's disease, a loved one of a person with Parkinson's disease or a person who cares about this great cause, we invite you to participate in this year dynamic and accessible virtual format of the event!

To move is to live, to give is to hope.

The objective of PARKINSON'S JOURNEY is to invite participants to take part in a walk (or any other physical activity) to promote health and raise the necessary funds to provide services adapted to those affected.

Different options for participating in the Parkinson’s Journey:

> 1. Take up a challenge, alone or in a team:

You can take on a challenge alone or as a team. In any case, you will have to:

• Choose your type of physical exercise (ex: walking, running, dancing or other) and a duration;
• Choose the date on which you want to complete your challenge and a location (in person or virtual);
• Register (if you are participating alone) or register your team;
• Raise awareness among those around you and the community about your challenge and invite them to make a donation;
• If you want to, post photos and/or videos of your challenge on social media. To allow us to relay your challenge, do not hesitate to identify our Facebook accounts @parkinson.montreal.laval and/or Instagram @parkinson.montreal.laval.

New this year!! Each registered team will receive their personalized Team Kit which includes:

• A set of personalized posters to distribute to promote your challenge;
• A set of donation forms to provide to your contacts who wish to make their donation in person by check or cash;
• Web access to a pre-recorded capsule, courtesy of our collaborator Neuromotrix, to stretch and warm up before performing your challenge;
• The official event logo including your team name to use if you want to create merchandise for your event (tags, t-shirt, cap, etc);
• A publication promoting and motivating your challenge on PML's social networks.

From today until October 31 2022, you can make your donations online. Each donation, regardless of its amount, is precious and helps to bring us closer to our goal and thus, to allow our mission to be fully realized: actively participate in the well-being of people confronted with Parkinson's disease and their carers by offering support and information services.

Why mobilize in the Montreal-Laval region?

By participating in PARKINSON'S JOURNEY with Parkinson Montreal-Laval, you allow us to offer local services in our community. Donations are essential to consolidate and develop our services, such as the Info-reference telephone line, post-diagnosis meetings, self-help and support groups, physical activity classes, pairings and many other activities. offered throughout the year. In Greater Montreal, 10,000 people live with the disease and 40,000 people are affected when you count caregivers. Statistics reveal that the number of cases will double by 2031. That is why we want to redouble our efforts!
