Parkinson's Journey 2021

Parkinson Montreal-Laval invites you to join the Parkinson's Journey on September 12, 2021, a fundraising event that will take place on a provincial scale.

Like every year, we will be thousands of people living with Parkinson's disease, loved ones, families and everyone who supports the cause, to mobilize in support of the 100,000 Quebecers affected by Parkinson's disease - 25,000 diagnosed people and their loved ones.

This year's theme is To move is to live, to give is to hope. The objective of the journey is to invite participants to take part in a walk to promote physical activity and to raise the funds necessary to offer adapted services to people affected by the disease.

For this occasion Parkinson Montreal-Laval will offer a Facebook Live on September 12th for an online warm-up session.

Furthermore, from now until the end of September, you can contribute to the Parkinson's Journey. There are several options available to you:

1. Take on a personal challenge, alone or in a team

To do so:

• Choose your challenge (walk, run, dance or any other physical activity), its time period and date
• Register yourself or your team on our CanadaHelps.org page
• Raise awareness of this challenge and invite your friends and community to make a donation
• Post photos and/or videos of your challenge on social networks. To help us share your challenge, don't hesitate to identify our Facebook @parkinsonmontreal.laval and/or Instagram parkinsonml accounts

2. Join our Facebook Live event on September 12 by registering here

3. Donate to the Parkinson's Journey and help us reach our goal of $20,000

By joining the Parcours Parkinson Montréal-Laval, you allow us to offer local services in our community. Donations are essential to consolidate and develop our services, such as the Info-reference telephone line, post-diagnosis meetings, self-help and support groups, physical activity classes, twinning and many other activities offered throughout the year.

Why should we get involved in the Montreal-Laval region?

In the Greater Montreal area, 10,000 people are living with the disease and 40,000 people are affected when caregivers are included. Statistics show that the number of cases will double by 2031. This is why we want to redouble our efforts!
