Since 1997, the organization and its partners have helped to protect more than 606 acres (245 hectares) across the archipelago.
The organization, whose mission is essentially to protect our natural environment by purchase, donation or conservation agreements, also conducts, alone or with partners, research, management, education or interpretation of these lands while making its activities accessible to the public. Magdalen Islands Conservation Society also monitors its own or with partners, the maintenance or development of agricultural, forestry or hunting and gathering, when they add value without compromising the richness of the natural environment.
In addition, the promotion of conservation in perpetuity of natural areas through meetings, publications, guided tours and other means of information is part of the mission of the organization.
