Founded in 2010 as a drop-in soccer club to help immigrant and low-income children get involved in community, we have grown into an organization that provides opportunities to all, and responds to Calgary's underserved. Since March 2020, we have provided emergency food hampers to families and seniors we were learning didn't have safe access to food supplies, now delivering to over 500 families twice a month across Calgary. We have also continued our tutoring and after-school programming, engaging children and young people in activities, sport, education and music, giving everyone a safe place to play and be.

Umoja Community Mosaic (formerly Soccer Without Boundaries) is breaking down barriers through education and service, giving everyone the feeling that they belong and are a valuable member of the community. Participants in our sports and after-school programs build self-esteem and develop leadership skills, strengthening social relationships through teamwork, fair play, and conflict resolution. Parents and families of participants often get involved in other programs, such as food delivery or working with seniors, volunteering and getting involved and contributing. As Jean Claude likes to say, "It's a win-win-win!"
