Hi everyone! with the shorter days here and the holidays ahead of us.. .and very limited social interaction a reality....I wanted to share an activity that can both brighten your day and help people in the community.
Shelter Movers is a nonprofit that provides free moving and storage services for women and children fleeing violence. We provide survivors with the hands to help when they find the courage to leave an abusive home. This week, we will complete our 500th move in the 3 years we've been in existence in Ottawa. Our goal with the Brighten Ottawa campaign is to raise funds for the next 500 moves. The average cost of a move is $200 and we provide those services fully free of charge to survivors fleeing violence.
