About Shalem:

Shalem Mental Health Network is a non-profit mental health agency based in Hamilton, which offers Hamilton and communities across the country mental health care, services and programs they need to flourish. 

We offer counselling, organizational well-being programs and operate community programs, such as WrapAround and REcreate Art Studio, directly for the Hamilton community.

Shalem is a Hebrew word that captures the rich biblical concept of wholeness, peace, and the restoration of hope. Since 1963, we have provided care, counselling and programs through a biblically-informed professional approach to mental health and wellbeing.

About Work:

- Depression, Anxiety and Relational issues are the top reasons people sought care at Shalem in 2023.

- 12,000 households across Canada have direct access to therapy, supporting 110 communities and organizations every year through the Congregational Assistance Plan.

- 1 in 3 counselling sessions was subsidized thanks to our community partners and donors.

-16 vulnerable families are provided special support and community through WrapAround in partnership with Catholic Children's Aid Society.

- 209 youth were empowered through REcreate last year.
