Hi. I am delighted to share that I am once again running in "Conquer the Lake" June 16! Eight years ago I was diagnosed with scleroderma. Damage to my lungs, internal organs and skin involvement have impacted the quality of my life. Scleroderma has the highest mortality rate among the autoimmune diseases. Thanks to determination and many therapies I am back running. I decided it was time to lace up my running shoes and take my power back! As patients we often hear "risks vs benefits." Running is a big part of my therapy. I feel more like myself then ever. This is a benefit I would highly recommend. By way of running, I am grateful to be creating positive awareness and provide a sense of hope for warriors. I am excited to cross the finish line this year! Thank you for caring and your donations.
