The Society provides coordinated volunteer services that promote independent living and enhanced quality of life for people living within the Municipality of Saanich.

About SAANICH VOLUNTEER SERVICES SOCIETY

The Society was formed in 1992, a nonprofit agency governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. SVSS offers one-to-one direct volunteer services for those who need help to live independently. Volunteers provide supported transportation, companionship, help with light gardening, home repairs, computer help, telephone visitation, income tax returns and food delivery services. We also provide referral services when our organization cannot help with a matter. The agency is financially supported by individual donors, the Municipality of Saanich, Vancouver Island Health Authority, Provincial Employees Community Service Fund, and The Ministry of Attorney General Gaming.  All services are provided by volunteers and a core group of staff all of whom bring compassion, understanding and a desire to make a difference to the well-being of the Saanich community by helping others.
