RMHC Alberta alleviates the tremendous emotional, financial, and physical burdens faced by families with seriously sick or injured children.
Ronald McDonald House® Alberta provides a home away from home for families seeking treatment for seriously ill or injured children in an Alberta medical facility. There are four Houses across the province (Edmonton, Calgary, Red Deer, and Medicine Hat).
Parents and caregivers never expect to need a Ronald McDonald House, but we are there when families need comfort and support the most. Nearly 70% of Canadians live outside of a city with a specialized children's hospital. Travel away from home, work, and support systems can create huge obstacles when families need to seek vital medical treatments.
Ronald McDonald House® Alberta alleviates the tremendous emotional, financial, and physical burdens faced by families during these difficult times.
Each year over 1,200 families stay in one of Alberta's Ronald McDonald Houses, saving families close to $6.5 Million annually.
Families see Ronald McDonald House as a supportive community where, despite what they are going through, life seems just a little bit easier.
Coping together has an impact on a family's ability to navigate their medical journey, make important decisions, and find strength in one another.
