Riverdale Immigrant Women’s Centre’s mandate is to support Chinese speaking and South Asian women and their families in taking greater control of their lives. RIWC provides culturally specific settlement and counselling support services with the use of community- determined strategies, that are developed and delivered by immigrant women

About RIVERDALE IMMIGRANT WOMEN'S CENTRE

All services are offered from a holistic perspective that addresses the socio economic barriers encountered by immigrant women and their families. RIWC is committed to supporting and caring for our clients, bearing in mind the marginalizing experience that immigrant women face due to barriers of gender, age, poverty, language, racism and violence. Emphasis is thus placed on the practices of empowerment that include prevention/education strategies, skill and leadership development, and asset building that harnesses prior learning, skills and experience from immigrant communities.
