This Saanich park was donated to the municipality in 1994 and subsequently zoned as a nature sanctuary. Rithet's Bog Conservation area is home to several rare plant and animal species, including species at risk such as Purple Sanicle (Sanicula bipinnatifida) and the Vancouver Island Ringlet butterfly (Coenonympha tullia insulana).
Rithet's Bog Conservation Society is a Federated Club of the Federation of BC Naturalists.
