The Training & Learning Centre helps adults who are missing the essential skills they need to get a job, keep the job they have, become an apprentice, continue their education, or become a volunteer in the community. There are many reasons a person might need to upgrade their skills. The help we offer is FREE. According to the Labour Market Planning Report 2019-2020, in the Renfrew County area, 43% of adults between the ages of 25 and 64 have no educational credentials of any kind. This indicates to us that many adults in our area would benefit from our service. Many of our past learners have been successful in reaching their goals. They are now personal support workers, town councillors, mechanics, board members, business owners, cooks, apprentices, labourers, etc. The work we do in teaching essential skills makes a real and tangible contribution to our learners and to their communities.
The Training & Learning Centre is a community-based, non-profit, charitable organization that has been serving Renfrew County for over 25 years. We receive funding from the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities but we also rely on fundraising and community donations. Our catchment area is the rural communities to the south of and along the Highway 60 corridor with our main office situated in Eganville and an itinerant sites in Barry’s Bay. We need your help to continue with our efforts. Thank you.
