On September 8, 2018, I will be participating in the GranFondo -a 122km bike race from Vancouver to Whistler- to fundraise for Raincoast's Safeguard Coastal Carnivores campaign.
I am a recent B.Sc Honours graduate from the University of Victoria, and have been a part of Raincoast's Applied Conservation Science Lab family since 2016. I've never done a long-distance bike trip or competed in a race, so this will be a new and exciting experience!
I've been fortunate enough to witness (and hear) many species throughout my experiences working up BC's coast. Although I celebrate the trophy hunt ban of grizzly bears in the province, I also think of the black bears and wolves we've watched, the cougar tracks we've seen, as well as the wolverines caught on our remote-cameras. I will continue to fight for their protection, which includes ending the commercial trophy hunt.
Please consider sponsoring 1km for $10, however, any amount is greatly appreciated!
