Spectrum Productions leads the way in creating inclusive and supported opportunities for autism in film and media production and the arts.
Based in Montreal, Quebec Spectrum Productions is committed to advancing the social, cultural and economic inclusion of individuals on the autism spectrum by supporting and promoting autistic creative talent in film and media production and the arts.
OUR MISSION
To create opportunities for autism in film and media production and the arts by providing inclusive and supportive spaces where autistic youth and young adults can explore their artistic interests, develop their skills, share their art, gain experience in the industry and build a dynamic social and professional network.
OUR VISION
To build a global community that supports and celebrates autistic creative talent.
WHAT WE DO
Starting from a single summer camp in 2009, Spectrum Productions has evolved into a state-of-the-art studio offering a variety of programs and opportunities that focus on creating a sense of belonging, building community, and providing access to artistic practice, education, and employment in film and media production and the arts.
- Our year-round programs include video-making camps, social clubs, animation and production clubs, individualized after school programs and Creative Media Lab – a weekly career exploration program for young adults.
- Our social-enterprise productions company creates job training and employment opportunities for Creative Media Lab participants. Working alongside Spectrum’s team, emerging autistic professional creatives gain industry experience in film and media production through public and private sector contracts.
We strive to provide a platform for the creative voices of the autistic community by disseminating content that highlights the creative, experimental and technical talents of autistic artists and film makers through initiatives like Spectrum Fest, Spectrum Live and our Annual Gala and Screening. By sharing ideas and creations, increasing exposure and expanding our community we play a vital role in changing the discussion around autism to one of talent, creativity and potential.
