Overview

This year, we've introduced the option to adopt an owl online, providing you with the chance to participate in the Owl Migration Monitoring Program. Each virtual adoption, valued at $50, includes a certificate with a photo of the adopted owl, as well as details specific to your owl (i.e. sex, age, and band number). Only owls that have been banded by PEPtBO are able to be adopted.

Details

Each banded saw-whet owl is assigned a unique 9-digit identification number. When you make an adoption you will receive a certificate with the adopted owl's information, including its age, sex, weight, and ID number. If your adopted owl is encountered again in the future, you (or the designated adoptee) will be notified by email.

When adopting an owl, please specify the adoptee’s name (this name will appear on the certificate) and provide an email address to whom the certificate should be sent to. Remember to enter the email address in the “Attendee" field when making your Owl Adoption.

If you’ve explored the photos of adoptable owls on our website and have a specific one in mind, feel free to request this in your order. We’ll do our best to accommodate all requests, but please understand it’s a first-come, first-served basis. You will also have the option to choose a name for your adopted owl, and that name will proudly be featured on your certificate.

We are a volunteer run organization so we appreciate your patience as it may take up to a week for us to process your Owl Adoption certificate.
