The Great Lakes Plastic Cleanup

Plastic pollution in the world’s oceans is a hot-button issue, but here in Canada, our freshwater systems like the Great Lakes are also suffering from the impact of plastic – and, because so many people depend on these systems, the problem affects all of us. We’re working to solve the problem installing cutting-edge capture and cleanup devices across the Canadian Great Lakes shorelines to get plastic out of the water, which we’re analyzing to establish what types of plastic are entering the lakes, where they come from, and how we can stop them continuing to reach the water.

Paving the Way for Electric Vehicles

Almost exactly 10 years ago, Pollution Probe was part of the first-ever pilot project for consumer electric vehicles (EVs) in Canada. EVs are ideal low-carbon options for personal vehicles, especially in a country like Canada where clean renewable electricity is only getting more accessible. We work to make sure that EVs can be affordably, conveniently available to all, and more EVs for everyone!
