Atlantic Drag Star 2019

2019 ATLANTIC DRAG STAR will be returning as part of Halifax Pride Festivals this summer with an ALL-NEW competition!

On July 26th at The Spatz Theatre in Halifax, and hosted by 2018 Atlantic Drag Star WINNER Ms. Kristi Davidson, Atlantic DRAG STAR is THE opportunity for Atlantic Canada drag performers to showcase their skills and talent on a large professional stage in front of a live audience.

Contestants will be guided and critiqued by a panel of illustrious judges, including Aquaria, winner of 10th season of RuPaul's Drag Race. And once again, the audience will participate as our fourth judge and will award a special audience choice prize.

This year’s contestants will be vying for a crown and a grand prize of $1000, and the title of 2019 ATLANTIC DRAG STAR! All contestants will walk away winners!

Drag performers have always been HUGE community supporters, and Atlantic Drag Star is so proud to once again support Phoenix Youth Programs through this event. Contestants will be fundraising for Phoenix through various channels with 100% of donations supporting Phoenix.

Each year Phoenix works with approximately 1,000 youth ages 11-24 and their families providing individualized wrap-around supports with youth leading the way. Phoenix supports both youth experiencing homelessness, as well as youth living with their families or on their own. Important programs including emergency shelter, food, housing support, health care, parenting support, arts and recreation, education and employment services, and youth and family therapy. There is absolutely no cost, programs are voluntary, and youth can take part for as long as they need.

The Performer who fundraises the biggest amount by midnight of June 23rd will be guaranteed a spot in the final, and the Performer who fundraises the biggest amount by 10 pm on the day of competition July 26th will receive a Phoenix prize.
