The Pender Island Public Library acknowledges that we are located on the ancestral and unceded territories of the Coast Salish people, including SENĆOŦEN speaking W̱SÁNEĆ (Saanich) First Nations and Hul’quimi’num Treaty Group.

We strive to provide excellent library services to the Pender Island community and visitors.

The Pender Island Public Library was established through the efforts of local community members who worked hard to bring services to our small island community. Today, a team of staff, Board Trustees, and volunteers keep improving our library, creating a facility that is a vibrant hub for the community.

Growing from humble beginnings as the "Pender Lender" society in 1977, and incorporated as a public library association in 1989, the Pender Island Library's Mission is to provide access to a range of library resources to support the diverse needs of our community.

Our Vision is to be a dynamic and welcoming library where all can learn, discover, explore and connect

Our library facility, built in 1991 and fully renovated in 2012, is a source of pride in our community and we thank the many funders for their donations over the years.
