John & Jacob Fundaiser for Refugees

John Soden and Jacob Muir are raising funds to support a couple who are coming to Canada as sponsored refugees. The family is coming a little earlier than planned so an extra fundraising effort is needed to ensure they have the funds required for basic living expenses when they arrive.

John and Jacob will be riding their bikes across three North Shore Mountains on Saturday, July 22 and invite your support.

The couple is sponsored by St Mary's Anglican Church, Kerrisdale in partnership with St Agnes Anglican Church, North Vancouver.

This is a married couple who were both born in Lebanon as Palestinian refugees. Mirna is a hair dresser who hopes to continue her profession in Canada. Ahmad attended university in Lebanon and has a degree in graphic design. He is a wonderful photographer and a hard working, industrious man who has dreamed of coming to Canada since he was a young boy. They are seeking a place where they can live in safety and are allowed to work hard to achieve their dreams.
