Pacific Post Partum Support Society would like to extend their deepest sympathy to Florence’s family at this time. We are holding Florence and all of her family and friends in our hearts, and sharing your grief. We hope that you can feel our collective thoughts and the light of the candles that were held high to guide Florence home. Your community stands with you now, as you move through your loss.
For those currently suffering from a postpartum mood disorder, we know that this event may be causing fear, worry, and anxiety. If you need help working through your feelings at this time please don’t hesitate to call the PPPSS support line at 604-255-7999 in the Vancouver area or toll free 855-255-7999.
This fund is in memory of Florence Leung for Florence's friends and loved ones, and anyone who has been touched by her story.
As a non-profit, charitable organization, Pacific Post Partum Support Society provides a variety of free or low-cost programs for mothers experiencing a difficult pregnancy or postpartum adjustment, including postpartum depression and anxiety (PPD/A). We offer a range of services, depending on individual’s needs. In the year 2015-16 our staff made and received a total of 9,278 calls and emails, including 3,500 support calls for new and expecting mothers, and many informational calls and emails to their families and community and service care providers. We also have trained telephone support volunteers who speak other languages to support mothers in their first language if requested: Cantonese, Mandarin, Japanese, Russian, and Spanish (regular staff also offer Punjabi and Farsi).
Our programs are funded by government contracts, community and foundation grants, and individual donors. In light of limited government/grant funding and an ever-increasing demand for our services, your support is needed now more than ever.
