Raising funds for Operation Come Home | The $24 Challenge 2022

$288.00raised of $1,000.00

Campaign Ended February 28, 2022

We have taken on the Operation Come Home $24 Challenge this year. For the week of February 6th-12th, we will be living on just $24 each worth of food. We hope this highlights some of the difficulties facing the young people served by Operation Come Home. Young people who are experiencing homelessness are also experiencing food insecurity, the high cost of poverty, in addition to underemployment and insecure, unaffordable housing.

If a person can get housed in the cheapest apartment in Ottawa, can get a job that provides 20 hours per week at minimum wage, and is able to get all the assistance available to them (Ontario Works, City of Ottawa housing subsidies), they will still be left with about $24 per week to spend on food.

Join us or follow us on this challenge and, if you can, please consider making a donation to help homeless youth find the stability and security they need to prevent them from becoming homeless adults.
