This year I hope you can support me in Operation Come Home's $24 Challenge.
During the week of February 6th-12th I will be joining our $24 team and try to live on just $24 worth of food. This challenges helps bring into focus the difficulties faced by the young people served by Operation Come Home who are experiencing homelessness. And it shows the hardship involved in food insecurity, the high cost of poverty, and the challenges experienced by people in our community who are underemployed and who have insecure housing.
Why $24? Well, our team did the math, and discovered that, on average, people experiencing homelessness or who are facing extreme poverty have this amount each week (or less!) for food and personal items.
