About Campaign

I'm participating in Operation Come Home's $24 Challenge this year. We will be living for the week of February 6th-12th on just $48 worth of food. We are highlighting the difficulties that young people face that come to Operation Come Home. OCH provides essential services to those that are experiencing homelessness and we are putting the focus on food insecurity, the high cost of poverty and the difficulties experienced by people in our community who are underemployed and that are precariously housed.

If a person can get housed in the cheapest apartment in Ottawa, can get a job that provides 20 hours of work per week at minimum wage and is able to get all the assistance available to them (Ontario Works, City of Ottawa housing subsidies), they will still be left with about $24 per week to spend on food.

Join me or follow me on this challenge and, if you can, please consider making a donation to help prevent homeless youth from becoming homeless adults.
