The $24 Challenge is back! Participants will live for one week on $24 worth of groceries, and document the journey. Each participant will be bringing their own unique take to the challenge, and it will highlight a variety of topics including the high cost of poverty, food insecurity, the health challenges of low-cost nutrition, or just a great series of recipes for very tight budgets!
Youth who come through Operation Come Home are often trying to get off the street. Ideally, we will be able to find them housing and a job. If one of those youth is eligible for every benefit (Ontario Works, housing allowance from the city) and works 20 hours a week at a part-time job, they will have on average $24 per week to spend on food.
