About Onward

Onward is the organization resulting from the merger of Horizon Housing and Forward Housing.  We work daily to ensure every Calgarian has a place to call home. Since 1976, we have been providing affordable, integrated, and supportive homes to vulnerable Calgarians.

The people who make their homes with us are the reason we exist. We provide homes to families and individuals who might otherwise not have one. Residents come from a variety of backgrounds and experiences, including people exiting homelessness, fleeing domestic violence, living with mental health challenges, brain injuries, or physical disabilities, as well as individuals and families living below the poverty line. Our goal is to ensure residents can enjoy a home free of judgment, full of hope, and surrounded by a community of mutual respect and support.
