Overview

The Ontario Provincial Police, in concert with the Pierzchala family, are hosting a bike ride to honour Greg Pierzchala's life and service. The "Getting After It", Greg Pierzchala Memorial Ride will start and finish in Dunnville, Haldimand County. Cyclists will travel alongside the beautiful Lake Erie. 

Details

The ride will take place on April 15th, 2023.

Registration will open at 9:30am, and the Opening Ceremony will begin at 10:30am.

At 11am the 80km cyclists will be sent off by the Ontario Provincial Police Commissioner's Own Pipes and Drums. Followed by a send off at 12noon for the 40km and 20km cyclists.  

There will be three distances for participants, 20kms, 40kms, and 80kms, and the rides are open to the policing community, and members of the public. 

The 20km cyclists will start at the Disciples Conference Grounds, 1899 Lakeshore Road to begin their ride, and finish their ride at the Dunnville Farmers Market. 

The 40km and 80km distances will start and finish at the Dunnville Farmers Market. 

We will have three separate distances with one great purpose, "Getting After It".  Greg was often heard speaking these words, and they were words he lived by.

About This Charity

The ONTARIO PROVINCIAL POLICE YOUTH FOUNDATION was created in 2005, to help the members of the O.P.P. and O.P.P.V.A. help the youth of the province in need of assistance, so they could realize their potential. It was determined that a foundation could assist in fundraising activities, provide appropriate accountability processes and allow the OPP to explore additional opportunities to help youth. It was emphasized that the foundation's intention would be to ensure the Youth Foundation had a "Provincial scope," in both membership and outreach.
