We are the Ontario Nature Youth Council, a diverse provincial network of youth dedicated to inspiring, connecting, and educating our communities while protecting wild species and wild spaces. As the youth voice for Ontario Nature, we are raising funds this Giving Tuesday to help protect habitat and species-at-risk in the Sydenham River Watershed, located in Chatham-Kent, Lambton and Middlesex areas.
This is a biodiversity hotspot in an area under intense pressure as it hosts 25% of the Canadian population. Less than 12% of local forest remains, which threatens many species at risk including the cerulean warbler, eastern wood-pewee and several endangered turtles.
