Birding for Relief
It is that time of year again when the bird migration is starting. It will be in full swing in May and so I will be Birding for Relief again this year on our RiverSong 5 ac property located just outside St. Jacobs beside the Conestogo River. In 2021, I set a target of 50 species for the month of May and was very pleasantly surprised that I was able to identify 83 different species with the help of fellow birders. I added several more species to my property list during that campaign and now have a total of 148 species seen at RiverSong over the past 14 years. My goal is to top last year’s numbers and am targeting 90 species for May 2022. I welcome visitors to come to our property to help me add to my list during May.
