One City has been running a campaign towards the purchase of a home in memory of Erin Sullivan, a long-term dedicated volunteer who passed away in 2022. This home has been property managed by One City for a private landlord, and has been housing individuals coming out of homelessness since January, 2020. 

A portion of the purchase price was generously given by an anonymous donor, and our goal was to raise a substantial portion of the remaining amount of $225,000. This campaign began in July, and in addition to this anonymous donation, we have raised funds from a number of generous individuals over the last 3 months, totalling $54,125 so far (as of November 7th, 2023). 

As of November 7th, 2023, we are excited to announce that the home was purchased on November 1st, 2023, using the funds we have raised so far for the cost of the down payment. One City will be engaging in a vendor take-back mortgage with the previous homeowner until next year. 

Within this next year, our hope is to raise the funds to pay off the remaining price of home, ultimately allowing One City to put money back into our supportive housing program that will support the residents in Erin’s House and other residents in other One City homes. 

One City is still accepting donations for this campaign, which will be ongoing into the new year. We will be sure to provide other updates as they become available, and hope to raise the remaining amount of $170,875. 

We are so grateful for the support of Erin’s family, friends and other One City supporters who have made this possible, and are thrilled to be able to purchase this home to continue supporting its residents.
