Northumberland Humane Society - Walk to Fight Animal Cruelty!

Each year the Northumberland Humane Society investigates over 250 animal cruelty complaints across Northumberland County. These complaints involve not only cats and dogs, but also farm animals and exotic pets. Many of these animals are found to be living under terrible conditions, in small cages, or over populated and unsanitary environments, starved and without access to clean water.

These animals are waiting for someone to rescue them and the NHS are that someone.

The NHS relies upon the generous support of the local community to provide shelter and care to these animals that have been abused or neglected. As part of our ongoing efforts to educate the public about the plight of animals that are suffering across our county, we are pleased to announce the return of our annual walk-a-thon!

Join us rain or shine, as we walk to fight animal cruelty on Sunday, September 22^nd at Peace Park in Cobourg! Walkers are encouraged to bring their dogs as they stroll either a 3km or 5km route.

All funds raised will go towards the sheltering and veterinary care of animals brought in through Animal Cruelty Investigations in our community. For more information about this event, or if you would like a hard copy pledge sheet please contact us at:
