The North Central Family Centre (NCFC) is a registered non-profit, charitable, organization, located at 2931 Fifth Avenue serving Regina’s inner-city children, youth, adults, seniors, and families. The centre delivers a wide range of proven successful structured programs, services and activities. NCFC offers a safe haven to learn and to grow and an opportunity to participate in educational, social, cultural, sports and recreational activities. 

Programs: 

The North Central Family Centre offers four main programs: 

1. After School Program is for children and youth ages 6 - 17 (Littles, Tweens, & Teens). Participants come to the centre after school, we have snack and offer engaging age appropriate activities such as arts, crafts & games. All children stay for supper, then the littles program is transported home and the tweens and teens are invited to stay for evening program. Evening program includes a wide variety of activities and outings. Monday to Thursday evening program runs till 8:00 (tweens) & 8:30 (teens) then later on Friday nights.   

2. Family Literacy Program is for children ages (0-5) and their caregivers. Families attend program during the day, three days a week. lunch and snacks are provided along with activities and games that support healthy development and child/caregiver bonding. 

3. Building Blocks to Success Program is for youth ages 15-30. It is a 10 week paid program where participants create a vision for their future and gain essential skills and certificates that will support their goals for employment or further training. Participants have the opportunity to get hands on employment experience in the last 5 weeks of the program with a paid work placement with one of our partnering employers. 

4. Reaching Home Program is a part of a collaborative strategy that helps to prevent and reduce homelessness in our community. The team works with individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness or who are at risk of homelessness. The team is part of a network of organizations who take a holistic and coordinated approach to offering support. The team provides advocacy, often liaising with landlords and income support services, they walk with each client in their journey and help to address any barriers the clients are facing. 

Services: 

The North Central Family Centre supports families in their programs and north central residents to meet basic needs by offering food, clothing, footwear, small and large household items, hygiene products, diapers and formula. Above all NCFC is a safe place where residents can find a caring person who will listen and provide supports and information that help to support overall wellness.
