The Ice Road Challenge is about caring. It is about supporting and developing a cycling program within Pikangikum. Cycling is a sport that improves health, confidence, and provides new freedom.
Having visited the Pikangikum community, I was immediately struck by how impactful the grass roots cycling program is on the children that live there.
Seeing the smile on a young child's face when they ride a bike for the first time is thrilling. Seeing the smile on a youths face when they repair a badly broken bike is wonderful. Taking a bike ride in the mud, on a barely usable broken bike with thirty of the nine hundred community kids made me consider new ways I could take action to find better bikes and fund the program.
This ride, and program, support some wonderful people. So, I am asking some of the wonderful people I know to please donate to this great initiative.
