Business No: 769784893RR0001
This organization is designated by Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) as a registered charity. They comply with the CRA's requirements and has been issued a charitable registration number.
For several years, MYRIAD CANADA has been working with the Saint Joseph's University of Beirut (USJ) in Lebanon in the field of education. We firmly believe that no one should be denied access to basic services because of financial difficulties.
In 2025, Saint Joseph University of Beirut (USJ) will celebrate 150 years of excellence and dedication to education, health and innovation. To mark the occasion, the Fundraising Campaign for the 150 years of USJ “USJ, Aspire for More” was launched, with the aim of raising 150 million USD over the next 10 years to ensure USJ's continued existence.
Part of this campaign is dedicated to “More Healthcare”, with a focus on the Hôtel-Dieu de France (HDF) university hospital managed by USJ and its network of satellite hospitals, which are key players in the Lebanese healthcare sector. It aims to raise 9 million USD to help the most deprived patients and 15 million USD for the acquisition of essential medical equipment.
At the heart of this project is the concern to provide comprehensive healthcare to all Lebanese citizens, regardless of their financial situation. Due to the economic crisis that has severely affected Lebanon for more than four years and the recent tragic events that have shaken our country with more than a million displaced people and many wounded flocking to our university hospital and its hospital network, today, more than ever, we appeal to your solidarity.
Many patients are no longer able to pay their hospital bills. To meet the growing demand for assistance, the HDF Social Solidarity Fund aims to provide financial support to those in need, particularly individuals who do not have access to social security or private insurance coverage. In 2023, 8505 patients have been supported by the HDF Social Solidarity Fund to the tune of 2,876,384 USD.
HDF is also in desperate need of several vital pieces of equipment to meet the growing needs of patients. This equipment is crucial to the diagnosis, treatment and well-being of the patients who depend on our healthcare services.
Every donation, no matter the amount, will help save lives.

MYRIAD CANADA is working with the Fondation USJ on this project. USJ, a private Lebanese university founded in 1875, manages the Hôtel-Dieu de France in Beirut, which is one of the most renowned healthcare facilities in the Middle East. Created by the French government in 1923 on the initiative of the Jesuit Fathers, it comprises 4 satellite sites in Lebanon. The HDF network has 485 beds, over 12,000 operations and covers all medical disciplines.
Founded in Lebanon in 2015 by the Rector, Pr Salim Daccache s.j., the Fondation USJ is the main entity empowered to solicit and receive donations from Alumni, friends, as well as any person or institution wishing to support the mission of USJ and HDF University Hospital. Fondation USJ aims to support the excellence and development of USJ and the hospital in their academic, social and medical mission.
