Priority 1 – Tackling Human Trafficking
The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime defines human trafficking as the ‘recruitment, transportation, transfer, harbouring or receipt of people through force, fraud or deception, with the aim of exploiting them for profit. Men, women and children of all ages and from all backgrounds can become victims of this crime, which occurs in every region of the world.’ *
While it is difficult to know the extent of the problem of human slavery, there are between 30 and 50 million people enslaved in the world. While human trafficking takes place in every country, it is more prevalent within developing countries where poverty and lack of opportunities is a breeding ground for trafficking.

Priority 2 – Care for Vulnerable Children
There are millions of children in the world who have been abandoned by their parents, been forced to leave home because of extreme poverty, or suffered the loss of their parents due to disease or war. Without parental guidance, provision, or love, these children's lives can be wrecked on the street, and they are vulnerable to many forms of exploitation, including the potential of being trafficked.
