I have recently joined the Board of My Friend's House (MFH) and am hoping that you will support my efforts to raise funds for this very worthy cause. On Saturday, September 23, I will be participating in the MFH Red Shoe event and will be walking down Hurontario Street in red high heels - ouch!
My Friend's House is a non-profit agency that provides support for abused women and children living in the Georgian Triangle. Its services have never been in greater demand; our local population growth and increased societal stresses (which have given rise to increased addiction issues) have resulted in a significant increase in incidents of domestic violence within our community.
Together, we can help to provide safe shelter and support to help victims of domestic violence to rebuild their lives and the lives of their children. I hope that both they and I can count on your support!
