Muzewest Concerts Society was founded in 2013 with the goal of bringing exceptional but underrepresented local and regional Canadian artists, their music, and their new creations to the audiences in the Lower Mainland, while ensuring that the concerts remained affordable and accessible. As Muzewest grew, it cultivated relationships with regional educators, musicians, all the while developing a loyal audience base and a reputation for consistently delivering quality performances and for the commissioning of new Canadian works.

After becoming a non-profit society in 2019 and a registered charity since July 2024, Muzewest Concerts has received recognition and support for its work through grants given by, among others, the Canada Council for the Arts, SOCAN Foundation, BC Arts Council, City of Vancouver, as well as small donations by private individuals.
