We are excited to announce the upcoming Run – Ride – Walk fundraising event on September 14, 2024 in support of the Mohawk Village Memorial Park at the former Mohawk Institute Residential School a.k.a. “The Mushhole.” This park is a Survivor-led initiative and is built to honour the students who were at the institution from 1831 to the closing in 1970. The students came from approximately 60 communities and 2 regions across Canada. These communities will be recognized on a future Memorial monument in the park.
Individuals can participate in this fundraising event by collecting pledges/sponsors from donors in exchange for a physical activity of their choosing (example: running/riding/walking/etc).
Participants can also join by creating your own Fundraising "Run Ride Walk for the Park" at a location and date of your choosing (before or after our event). Proceeds from this fundraising campaign will go towards further development of the Mohawk Village Memorial Park which is located on the same grounds of the Mohawk Institute Residential School ‘Mush Hole”. This park will be a physical and symbolic representation of what can be achieved moving forward - a legacy our group of Residential School Survivors want to leave for all.
