We are raising money to support the application of an Afghani Hazara gay man to come to safety in Canada. This money will help support him during his first year in Canada and will include provisions for mental health supports. Our goal is to provide a safe space and time for him to start healing and begin a life of safety and dignity in Canada, supported by people who understand his personal history.
Our sponsorship team includes both LGBTQ+ members and allies as well as Canadian- and Afghani-born members, but we all recognize the marginalization and increased dangers faced by LGBTQ+ people in Afghanistan.
