Mamawi Atosketan Native School (MANS) is a unique, privately-run K-12 school that serves the Indigenous families of Maskwacis and area exclusively. Named by its students when the school opened its doors in 2004, we've established a reputation for a caring, culturally respectful environment with academically ambitious and diverse course offerings. In 2018, we opened a privately-funded new high school building with a Cree cultural centre and classroom, and an industrial arts/CTS building where students are already producing welded art that has landed a public art commission and a prominent place in the 2021 International Institute of Welding Welded Art Photographic Exhibition.
All of this contributes to keeping students engaged through to high school completion at a rate that exceeds the national average.
While the building project is complete, donations are needed to
1) enhance our post-secondary scholarships, cultural education, and learning enrichment programs, and
2) build an outdoor athletic field--especially critical with COVID a lingering fact of life.
MANS is transforming the lives of Cree youth and helping to equip them to positively shape the future of their community. Your support helps to ensure our students can succeed.
