Lumby & District Senior Citizens Housing Society operates two low-income housing facilities in Lumby, BC for seniors and those with disabilities who are able to live independently. With the support of BC Housing, tenants pay a maximum of 30% of their income for rent.

Saddle Mountain Place has 40 suites of bachelor or one-bedroom suites.

Monashee Place has 16 one-bedroom suites.

The facilities share a common building known as the Dogwood Lounge. Whitevalley Community Resource Centre provides activities and meals through the Interior Health Authority funded Seniors Support program. As well there are are many impromptu, tenant-organized events throughout the week.

Low-income housing is in short supply. Lumby is fortunate to have 56 suites of supported housing, but it is not enough. There is a long waiting list and we receive enquires daily.
