Many of our supporters have known us as the Dhana Metta Rescue Society.  We have enjoyed a very successful 12 years in the animal welfare community.  However, we have come to the realization that our current shelter model is no longer sustainable.  With that said, we would like to introduce the Lower Mainland Humane Society.

The Lower Mainland Humane Society is headed by Yuana Hexamer, the Founder and President of Dhana Metta and is supported by a new Board of Directors.

We have plans in the works for a new cooperative rescue shelter, and have started a capital fundraising campaign in order to make this happen.  Our shelter plans will combine the best of private rescue along with the best of the shelter system.  We hope our supporters help us build a new community rescue shelter, so we can continue to improve the lives of homeless animals in a greater capacity.
