Our Mission

The London Community Chaplaincy works with children and adults living in the City of London, Ontario's largest social housing complexes for families.  The LCC is building on the strength of our founding organizations to "Build Community, Serve the Community, in the Heart of the Community".  The families living in public housing complexes with whom we work, love their children as much as any other family, and want the best for them. For some families, domestic violence has done harm to the parent’s ability to effectively lead the family. Others struggle with mental health concerns, or chronic conditions like Hepatitis B, C and HIV. Some strive to overcome addictions. While others who have recently arrived in Canada are faced with the challenges of adjusting to our society and culture. Living in poverty is a daily struggle and is more stressful than most of us can imagine.

The London Community Chaplaincy seeks to meet people and families where they are to bring encouragement and hope. Just as Jesus accepted those he encountered along his journey, so we seek to accept those who come to the Chaplaincy and to receive them with love and respect.

About London Community Chaplaincy

The London Community Chaplaincy builds and serves the Southdale and Limberlost resident community in many ways. We provide After School Programs for children ages 6-13 years each weekday through the school year. We provide summer camp sponsorships, a summer evening recreation program, community Christmas Parties, and Christmas Hampers. We also provide ongoing advocacy and supports to the families of the community including bus tickets, food cards, diapers, baby food and a food cupboard - all as our donations support. We use our our resources wisely and are able to accomplish a great deal through good stewardship and wonderful volunteers!
