Literacy Nova Scotia (LNS)
Literacy Nova Scotia (LNS) was formed in 1992 to be a non-governmental umbrella organization with a mission to ensure that all Nova Scotians have equal access to quality literacy, essential skills, and lifelong learning opportunities.
Mandate
LNS exists to provide a wide range of supports that help Nova Scotians meet today’s literacy and essential skills demands. We do this by sharing information about the state of literacy in Nova Scotia and in Canada, by promoting accessible programs for all, and by collaborating with others in order to support and celebrate learning, to find solutions, and to make meaningful connections.
