The Kettle Creek Watershed is 520 square kilometers of land in the heart of the Carolinian Zone on the north shore of Lake Erie. It spans 7 municipalities and a population of 84,000. Kettle Creek Conservation Authority manages 8 conservation areas within the watershed that sees an average of 20,000 people per year at our green spaces and on our trails. You may even enjoy some of your favorite outdoor activities like hiking, canoeing, kayaking, camping and bird watching at our parks.
The watershed is also home to over 2,200 herbaceous Carolinian Species including the rare Tulip, Blue Ash and Kentucky Coffee trees. In 2012, we planted the 1 millionth tree in the watershed, and continue to plan 50,000 trees annually to help improve forest cover in the watershed. Species at Risk like the Painted Turtle, Bald Eagle and Monarch also call the watershed home.
A donation to KCCA aids in the protection, restoration and management of our conservation lands which are vital to our own health and well-being and the mammals, amphibians, reptiles, plants and trees that reside within our watershed.
