Up and coming Canadian songwriter/producer/mixer and CKL native Darryl James (a.k.a “Close Kicks'') crafts powerful songs infused with aspiring themes. As a two-time Juno Award winner and iHeart Music Award Winner, Darryl is best known for co-writing and performing with the The Strumbellas (Spirits, Greatest Enemy, We Don’t Know, and Salvation, which has over 500 million streams worldwide). He’s also co-written with other critically acclaimed artists including Keith Varon, Jim Roach and Grammy Award nominated songwriter Erika Nuri Taylor.
When asked about being a part of the Stinky Fish Challenge, Darryl jumped onboard immediately, with enthusiasm for helping the community in a fun way!
The stakes are high, with his tastebuds on the line, as all Challengers are tasked with fundraising as much as they can before noon on August 27th. The one who raises the least amount must eat the Swedish delicacy, Surstromming….also known as the World’s Stinkiest Fish!
