Our Mission

Our mission:

1. To coordinate the collection and distribution of food stuff to emergency food distributors that provide food to people in need

2. To operate and maintain facilities for the safe storage and distribution of food stuff to emergency food distributors that provide food to people in need

3. To operate and maintain a food bank to provide food to people in need

4. To promote the health of the community through

- Educating and instructing the public on the impact of hunger

- Researching and documenting the impact of hunger in the community

- Promoting the effective collection and distribution of foodstuffs

- Referring people in need to other community support agencies

About Kawartha Food Share

Kawartha Food Share currently assists more than 7,700 men women and children every month through our 37 member agencies across the City & County of Peterborough. Last year our warehouse distributed over 6.5 Million dollars of food and emergency care needs. We also partner with the school breakfast programs in serving over 158,000 meals a month.
